Thailand snorkeling

Thailand, among the Asian countries, serves as the most ideal destination for diving and snorkeling.  Its crystal clear, calm, soothing, soft tropical waters of the Andaman Sea, particularly in Phuket, Phi Phi, Coral Island and Similan Islands on the South of Thailand, enriched with bustling and self-sufficient underwater marine life has always enticed both local and international travelers from anywhere.

All year round snorkeling is best enjoyed as the sea has always been peaceful and clear, especially during the cool months of November to the peak of summer on April.  However, during the rainy season of May to October, a bit extra care is advised as the undertow can become a bit strong along the west coast.

Thailand’s water temperature is normally about 27-28°C warm. In that, snorkeling enthusiasts and even first-timers and still learners are not really required to suit up with wetsuits but nonetheless advised to wear at least a t-shirt to protect one’s skin from sunburn.

Blessed with the abundance of beautiful beaches, several locals rent off some snorkeling gears with average quality for the day.  Many shops, within the area of the island, as well sell some collection of masks, snorkels and fins that are really inexpensive.

Several diving schools may also be found within the islands that are outfitted with worldwide standard diving equipments and diving instructors.  They also include snorkeling as part of the learning experience for beginners.
